Mathematics: The Language of Love

God is continually counting things.  He has a book by the name of Numbers.  In Numbers Moses is commanded to count all of the Children of Israel.  Psalm 147 and verse four reveals, "He tells the number of the stars; He calls them all by their names." That is something that has not been accomplished by the largest Cray.  It is doubtful that it ever will be.

Numbers have gained a bad reputation as being cold and unfeeling.  They are thought cold and impersonal.  This is not the case.  Mathematics like any language is expressive of the one who speaks it.  There are many who have seen the beauty and expressiveness of numbers and describe them with romantic terms like ballet or symphony.

When I look at the Universe I see a Loving God who counts the hairs on my head (Matthew 10:30).  I can see nothing less.  I see a God who has measured my tears in a bottle (Psalms 56:8).  Think what would happen if for one fleeting instant the nuclear bonding forces of the earth's crust were to be overcome by it's gravity.  The earth would crush into a singularity with everything on it!  All life would perish but God lovingly maintains the balance of the system of creation with His mathematics.  He calculates.  He integrates.  He derives and conjugates.  All the while the dazzling dance of quantum mechanics and physics maintains it's delicate balance on the edge of a knife blade of order and inflexible law.

Yet for all of His counting there is one thing that God would rather not compute.  That is the sins of mankind and the sins of each individual personally.  Yet it can not be helped.  It is in His face like a stench.  The Great Mathematician finds Himself rehearsing the enumerations of the vial affections of humanity through His infinite mind like a macabre leading only to fire and brimstone.

Consider for a moment the function f as a simple random function whose range is all numbers between 0 and infinity inclusive.  This function is a controlling function of function g.  Function g returns a boolean value.  The result of g is false when f(x) is 0 and true otherwise.  A true value corresponds to guilty and false corresponds to innocent.  The function f(x) is relative to the sins of a man.  What we would really like to see here is for f(x) to be 0 so that a person might be saved from eternal punishment and death.  This is however not the nature of function f (Romans 3:10).  The nature of function f for some people is a function that approaches infinity with more and more dreadful sins being commited.  The nature for others who try to live a pious life is to tend toward zero becoming more and more good as life continues.  For most people the function fluctuates and takes on more of Fourier characteristics.  As is clear all of these results for function f leads only to death (Romans 5:12).  What is really needed is to multiply the function f by a scalar value of 0 that will eliminate the sin and lead to the desired output of function g.  This is life (Romans 5:18).

Jesus sins were zero, zip, zilch, and none.  He lived a Perfect Sinless Life (Hebrews 4:14-15).  When we take the quantity of sins that Christ committed and combine them with our own count through an arithmetic AND operation we end up with no sins either (Romans 5:19).  Anything and'd with zero is zero.  In the same way anything joined with Christ is clean (II Corinthians 5:17).

If you would like to be joined with Christ in this way simply ask Him (Romans 10:13).  For as it is written, "That if thou shalt confess  with thy mouth the Lord  Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised  him from the dead,  thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9). Simply Pray...

Father-

I am as guilty as a cat in a gold fish bowl.  I am caught, busted, and unclean.  The function f of my sinfulness is not zero.  Join me with Christ in the way that a function f is joined with a scalar value of zero.  Multiply my sin by His Sinlessness and wipe me clean.  I know that you will receive me because of who Jesus is.  He is Your Son and a Perfect Man and He will make me clean.  Help me to tend more to zero instead of infinity.  Help me to tend more to zero than take on the characteristics of the Fourier functions.  Yet I know that when I fail Jesus does not fail.  He is my Life and my Salvation.

In His Name I pray.  So be it.

Sometimes I think God's Love is like PI a non-repeating non-terminating number that transcends all number systems.  His Love doesn't repeat because it is different at every experiencing.  It never ends.  And it transcends all.  PI is released when the circumference of a circle is divided by it's diameter.  God's Love is released when the cycle of sin is divided by His Son.  The cycle of sin is defeated.  It is finished and His Love will reign forever.  Just try to find the end of PI. 3.14159265359...
